REGISTRARS
(Last updated - 18 June 2007)

Although there is no scope within this MODEL Programme for the physical assessment of businesses against the Programme's illustrative "Standard" (SGS/24) and/or for the physical award of the right to display the illustrative SPRINGS - International Quality Mark, the following data outlines the methodology for the accreditation of Assessment and Certification Bodies who are, in many Countries, simply referred to as "Registrars".

Confidence in the integrity, professional status and operational capabilities of Registrars is secured through a globally applicable "Accreditation" infrastructure that (for management systems, products, services, personnel and other similar programmes of conformity assessment) is regulated by The International Accreditation Forum, Inc. (IAF) and (for laboratories seeking to perform specific types of testing, measurement and calibration) is regulated by ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).

By and large, the Membership of these internationally respected organizations is made up of Nationally or Regionally representative Bodies who again, by and large, have been appointed by their respective Governments to assess, accredit and regulate the activities of their territorially relevant Registrars against each Registrar's operationally applicable Accreditation Standards.

Consequently, as, when and if your business is seeking independently awarded certification against ANY Standard published by ISO (International Organization for Standards) you should thoroughly check-out the "accredited status" of your prospective Registrars.

Meanwhile the COMPANY MEMBERSHIP BEBEFITS offered by AAQA can place your business firmly on the first rung of the International QA ladder.
